Quantitative and Systems Biology Coursework

Core Course Requirements:

  • a graduate-level Quantitative Biology (QB) course (3 – 5 units)
  • a graduate-level Systems Biology (SB) course (3 – 5 units)
  • one other 3-5 unit graduate level QSB course (numbered 200-299, excluding 295, Graduate Research)

Other Requirements:

  • 1 unit of QSB 294, Responsible Conduct of Research
  • 2 units of QSB 291, Seminar, during first year of residence
  • Expected to take:
    • QSB 292, Group Meeting
    • QSB 293, QSB Journal Club
    • QSB 295, Graduate Research

  • Other QSB course: This requirement can be met by any other 3 – 5 unit QSB course numbered 200-299 (excluding QSB 295, Graduate Research). QSB 298 and 299 can be used to fulfill this requirement if no other available course meets student's needs. A course from another graduate program at UC Merced may be substituted if approved by petition to the Educational Policy Committee (EPC).
