Graduate Research Orientation Week (GROW) encompasses a number of workshops, programs and events held at the beginning of each academic year to provide new incoming students with an opportunity to take care of important pre-enrollment tasks and to learn about UC Merced and the Merced community.
GROW will have specific events geared toward incoming Natural Sciences graduate students which include: TA training, Lab safety training, and specific graduate group events. Resources for incoming Natural Sciences graduate students who will be joining the Applied Mathematics (AM), Chemistry & Chemical Biology (CCB), Physics (PHYI) and Quantitative & Systems Biology (QSB) graduate groups will be provided.
All incoming Graduate Students are required to attend GROW which will be held:
Wednesday August 15th 2019 – Thursday August 22nd 2019

The schedule includes sessions that provide practical information concerning the resources of departments and programs, the graduate groups, the University and Merced, as well as social events that offer students a chance to make new friends and to build community.
